Inihim stood proudly on the gleaming silver floor of the Inihim Space Academy, her hands on her hips, her wild curls bouncing as she nodded at her team. Dressed in her tiny but official-looking space suit, she looked like the brave captain she was meant to be.
“Cadets!” she announced, her bright smile filled with excitement. “Today is a special day! You are no longer just ordinary kids. You are the first space explorers of Inihim’s Space Academy!”
The five recruits—Dasun, Vipuli, Viraj, Sajani, and Probodani—stood in a line, each wearing a different-coloured space suit, their helmets tucked under their arms. Their eyes sparkled with curiosity and excitement.
Dasun, the tallest, grinned. “So, when do we blast off, Captain Inihim?”
Inihim chuckled. “Not so fast, Cadet Dasun! First, you need to pass your training. Space is dangerous! We need to learn how to float, talk in space, and most importantly…” she paused dramatically, “how to eat space food without making a mess!”
Sajani giggled. “I hope space food tastes like pol sambol and milk rice!”
Viraj scrunched his nose. “What if it tastes like burnt toast?”
Vipuli, the smartest of the team, raised her hand. “Captain, what’s our first lesson?”
Inihim clapped her hands. “Good question, Cadet Vipuli! Lesson One: Zero Gravity Training!”
She led them into the Anti-Gravity Chamber, a shiny room where everything floated. The moment they stepped inside, their feet lifted off the ground.
“Wooooaaahhh!” Dasun flipped upside down, his arms flailing.
“I’m flying!” Probodani cheered, spinning in slow motion.
“Careful, Cadets!” Inihim called out, floating effortlessly. “Control your movements! Small motions like this.” She waved her arms gently, guiding herself forward.
The team tried their best, bumping into each other, giggling, and tumbling through the air. It was the best training ever!
After an hour of practice, Inihim brought them to a stop. “Great work, everyone! You’re ready for your next challenge…” She pressed a button, and a giant screen lit up.
On it, a strange blue planet appeared, swirling with silver clouds. A blinking message read:
“ALERT! MISSION: UNKNOWN SIGNAL DETECTED. CAPTAIN INIHIM, PREPARE FOR LAUNCH!”
Inihim’s eyes twinkled. She turned to her team. “Cadets, are you ready for our first real space adventure?”
The team saluted her. “Yes, Captain!”
“Then suit up!” Inihim shouted. “The universe is waiting!”
As the countdown began, the team rushed to their spaceship, hearts pounding excitedly. What mystery awaited them in the vastness of space?
Their first real mission was about to begin…
